Volunteer Opportunities
Mobile Response Team
As a volunteer advocate, you will play an essential role in the healing process for the survivors we serve. Our specially trained volunteer advocates provide resources and support in hospital emergency rooms and community centers during medical forensic sexual assault exams as part of the 24-hour Mobile Response Team. A reliable form of transportation is required for all Mobile Response Team volunteers. Volunteers respond to sexual assault forensic exams throughout the Salt Lake Valley.
Community Outreach
As a volunteer, you will be engaging with the community to help us reach potential survivors and provide prevention education. This includes tabling, developing educational materials, or presenting.
Administrative & Special Projects
Volunteers are needed for various special projects, small tasks, and ongoing office work. These positions offer a meaningful way to support survivors without being involved with direct services.
Agency Volunteer Initiative
Biannually, the Rape Recovery Center invites community members and organizations to contribute to the RRC's cause. Support the RRC and meet like-minded community members! Volunteer activities include, helping with donor thank you calls, supporting ongoing campaigns and special events.

STEP 1
Register for a 40-hour Crisis Advocacy certification
Due to the nature of our work, this is required before you may volunteer with us. Please register with the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA).
STEP 2
Fill out our Volunteer Application
The Rape Recovery Center utilizes volunteers for the Mobile Response and administrative tasks and projects. Our volunteers are extremely valuable to us and to our clients. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. If you have any questions, please Contact Us.
Our Mobile Response team volunteers are mandated by the state to take the 40-hour advocacy training the Utah Coalition against Sexual Assault (UCASA). We know that this is a large commitment. This class covers all aspects of sexual assault, crisis intervention, medical and legal resources, and victim healing. You will receive a Certificate of Completion as an Advocate for Survivors of Sexual Violence.
